Gecko was our home for twelve years whilst we cruised the inland waterways. Now we live ashore.

1966 Radio Times
Been sorting out some things in preparation for the house move and one drawer ws lined with a few pages of the Radio Times.
Do you remember these programmes?
Thank you for your comment, kath. I too wsuffered the nightmares after watching the first episode of Quatermass. After that Dad banned it! Another programme that scared me was a childrens's serial where (apparently) red grass in a lab stared to take over the world. Every time the grass rustled I hid behind the settee. Of course it was all in B & W but that didn't reduce the emotions.
Being a bit younger than yourselves, I saw the repeats of Quatermass in the 70's. Scared the willies out of me nevertheless. Come to think of it, haven't you ever felt a bit spooked when you hear a scrapping noise outside on the dark towpath. Could have coincided with that falling meteor over the next hill ....
The best bit of Emergency Ward 10, apart from Nurse Brown with the big assets, was watching the Daimler ambulance driving up the back of Hillingdon Hospital as the final credits rolled. As the series continued, every time the film got broken they spliced it together, making the ambulance jump. By the end of the series it was skipping up the alley like a cartoon.
My goodness, that makes me feel old! Apart from Laredo I remember every one. I had nightmares for months after watching Quatermass!
