A Welcome Support for Family Life

Today the government lost their attempt to relax the Sunday Trading Laws by granting Local Authorities the power to vary Sunday trading times for large supermarkets. The justification for this was:
  • This would lead to a significant increase in employment
  • With online traders able to deliver on Sundays the restriction on retail outlets was unfair
How ludicrous can their arguments get?
Are we going to eat more because shops are open longer? If not then any increase in labour and store operating costs will not boost the economy.

Everyone's life is so hectic nowadays, why can't we have one peaceful day a week?
